Light from reflective umbrella is multi-level, while from translucent umbrella is all soft, scattering. Relatively speaking, reflective umbrella is hard light. Reflective single-sided umbrella is isolated, the light is scattering to one direction, translucent umbrella is wide open, projects to all directions.
